Taro Gomi created a clock out of cardboard for his own private work space. When we first saw it, we thought the cute character was jumping out at us from his picture. With Mr.Gomi's kind permission, we started this project. The most critical point was the simplicity of lines, which was highly complex in form. We reproduced the fine lines and details, and used leather processing on the surface to improve the texture of the finish.

These clocks were handmade by craftsmen of affiliated studios in Nagano. After carefully cutting out the shape, the craftsmen apply a special paint called "Kawa-cho", which gives the surface depth. In addition, they are 20mm thick, which gives them a luxurious touch (Excluding the Mocha-colored elephant)

-Handmade Autographed Table Clock-
The size, weight, and color of this table clock were personally directed by Taro Gomi. It was released after a one-year production period. The white elephant and the black elephant are facing each other, as Mr. Gomi said, "The two elephants can be used as bookends, and when facing each other, they look cuter!"

Those customers who bought the clock designed for the wall have expressed their wish to purchase one designed for the table. As a result, Taro Gomi is hard at work meeting that demand. The transfer from paper to the three dimensional clock has been remarkable. It hasn't lost any of the designer's flair and touch!
